One of them got shot twice in the chest. His armor saved him. they were taking direct fire from 3 or 4 different positions. It was the Ukrainian side doing the shooting.

What kind of firearms are they using if they can be stopped by body armor? I'd expect the standard issue military firearms to chew through armor.

Most of those armor carriers are going to have rifle plates in them which are going to protect from ak/ar fire.

so, what is your definition of heavy ?

Taking direct fire from a handful of positions. Everyone of those shots were snapping which means it was directed at them. It wasn't just an occasional round in their general direction.

If I have to shoot heavy, I will use a .50 and 1 shot per second

you can continue to use a .22 and few shots here and there
