Kiev launches production of military uniforms for women. The project is called "Arm Women Now" and aims to provide every serviceman with a military uniform. This is reported by Kiev City Council.
It is noted that more than 50 thousand women serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, of which 3.5 thousand are senior officers. On the front line or in the rear, paramedics, tank girls, aerial reconnaissance women, artillery women, company or platoon commanders-each of these women performs their military duty on an equal basis with men. However, all female military personnel are issued a male uniform, since there is no female uniform.
"Women are given male military uniforms without taking into account female physiology. Almost 90% of women are forced to hem their uniforms, if, of course, they have the opportunity to do so in a full-scale war. It is necessary to provide our defenders with comfortable and functional military uniforms. Together with the team, we decided to take a global approach to solving this problem. We have already developed patterns based on the best international experience. Of course, we will sew the uniforms in Ukraine, " said the initiator of the project, deputy of the Kyiv City Council Irina Nikorak.
According to her, funds for tailoring uniforms are collected at charity auctions. Lots are provided free of charge by famous Ukrainian athletes, musicians and public figures.
