The Russian forces are on the verge of a great triumph as information from the front indicates that the Ukrainian defence in the town of Bakhmut has collapsed after 3 months of fierce fighting.

Recall that the Russians already control the waste sorting plant located on the southern boundary of Fedora Maksymenka Street in Bakhmut.

The town of Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) is of strategic importance for both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as it is the most important transport hub in the Donbass.

The Russians report that the 58th Ukrainian brigade is retreating as it has suffered heavy losses. It has lost over 50% of its personnel.

However, PMC Wagner's units in particular have suffered heavy losses in the area.

The biggest problem for the Ukrainians is in western Bakhmut.

The Russians are attacking from four points as the map below shows. The fiercest fighting is taking place east of Opytne where the Ukrainians are trying to fight back without success.

According to confirmed information, the Ukrainians have indeed urgently requested reinforcements at Bakhmut. They are making a huge struggle to hold the town at a time when the temperature in the area is minus 6 degrees Celsius and the Russians are preparing their final attack.

The Ukrainian defence collapses at Bakhmut

Russian media report that the Ukrainian defence has begun to collapse in Bakhmut (Artyomovsk).

The fighting for this town has been going on for a long time, but now the countdown has begun. All this time, the defence of Bakhmut and its surroundings has been held by the 58th separate mechanised infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In mid-May, Russian forces launched an attack on Bakhmut through Popasnaya. Earlier, unable to withstand the pressure, Ukrainian troops retreated from Popasnaya towards Bakhmut.

Then, under a barrage of artillery fire and air strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces, the Brigade's 15th Separate Mechanized Infantry Battalion lost half of its personnel within hours.

On 1 August, fighting began on the outskirts of Bakhmut, which by then had become a heavily fortified area.

To date, Russian forces have managed to advance deep into the defence of Ukrainian troops in the area of the village of Ivangrad having crossed the Bakhmutka River near the village of Opytnoe.

Now Russian forces are surrounding the town from the south, going behind enemy lines.

The 58th Ukrainian brigade has suffered heavy losses, over 50% of its personnel.

According to the Russians, soldiers from the brigade's 13th and 15th mechanized infantry battalions have turned to the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a request to urgently send help, otherwise they will not hold the city.

Moreover, the Ukrainians, realizing the gravity of the situation, began to transfer from Kiev the 241st Territorial Defence Brigade to Bakhmut.

This consists of 8 separate Territorial Defence battalions. These are the 130th, 204th, 205th, 206th, 207th, 242nd, 243rd, 251st Battalions

The Ukrainian positions in Nevelskoye burned

The Russian army covered the area of the Nevelskoye settlement, located on the western outskirts of Donetsk, with a massive attack of 9M22S incendiary ammunition. According to Russian sources, about two dozen rockets were fired in total at Nevelskoye, resulting in the burning of Ukrainian army positions.

In the videos, you can see the moment when the settlement area is covered with incendiary ammunition. The Nevelskoe settlement is controlled by the Ukrainian army and its line of defence, which has been established for years, makes it extremely difficult for Russian troops to advance.

However, given the area covered by the incendiary ammunition, most of the Ukrainian army's positions and underground bunkers should have been destroyed.

According to the Russians, the use of incendiary ammunition has proven its high effectiveness, as the latter is able to work effectively against both bunkers and manpower and military equipment.

Taking into account the attack on the Ukrainian positions, Russian analysts believe that in the near future the Russian army will launch an offensive in this area.

Soldiers of the 100th brigade of the 1st Army Corps of the Donetsk forces and forces of the 11th regiment of the People's Militia are operating in Nevelskoye.

Some time ago the Russians captured the Ukrainian stronghold covering the Nevelskoye settlement, known as the "Basin".
