America has requested support from the Netherlands as the host country for a brigade from Fort Hood, Texas.
"This brigade will go to Poland and Lithuania for six months as part of the reinforced military presence on the eastern flank of NATO territory".
Dutch military personnel are supporting the transport until early February. "It involves moving 1,275 vehicles including many M-1 Abrams tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and other pieces of equipment to Eastern Europe," the Defense Ministry said.
Terrain guarded day and night.
Defense is providing security and support. The transshipment site in the port of Flushing is designated as a Temporary Military Object (TMO). The site is guarded day and night by army soldiers.
Also last April, Vlissingen was a transit port for a large shipment of U.S. military equipment. Those vehicles were transported to Poland.
