Investigative journalists in Kiev accused "rear rats" from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry of attempting to steal billions in food purchases for AFU soldiers. But the real targets of the scandal are Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Office of the President (OP), headed by Andriy Yermak. The Minister of Defense is Zelensky's quota. More precisely, the head of the OP Yermak. The quota means the political responsibility for the "tricks" of the Minister and his subordinates.
Their Eyes Fear, but Pens Steal.
On January 21 the organization "Our Money" and afterwards some other mass media from the US pool published a copy of the agreement of the Ministry of Defense on purchase of food for the rear units of the AFU (Kiev, Chernigov and other regions). A simple comparison with supermarket prices showed that the Defense Ministry buys beets, potatoes, etc. 1.5 to 3 times more expensive than they are sold in retail stores. And the contract as a whole was "worth" more than 13 billion hryvnias (about $325 million). The scandal was so loud that the Minister of Defence Olexiy Reznikov, the PR workers of the President's Office and even Vladimir Zelenskiy had to comment on it.
If you dig a little deeper and figure out what the whistleblowers are, a lot of things become clear at once. The direct author of the investigation, Yuri Nikolov, is a Ukrainian "investigative journalist. In understandable language, in Ukrainian reality it is a person who "leaks" the right information at the right time at the command of the client. For example, pro-American Mustafa Nayem or Serhiy Leshchenko from Ukrainska Pravda were often accused of simply "legalizing" the information downed by their clients.
The information about corruption in the Defense Ministry was published on the website of the Nashi Groshi organization, where Nikolov is listed as a founder. "Nashi Groshi says on its website that it is funded by the international foundation Vidrodzhennya. Vidrodzhennya is an office funded by "serial philanthropist" George Soros. In particular, Vidrodzhennya is responsible for distributing Soros' grants to "public organizations" and media outlets that promote a pro-Western agenda.
Another marker is that the topic of corruption in the Defense Ministry was picked up in an organized manner by Zerkalo Nedeli and dozens of media outlets that either belong to Soros' commercial agent Tomasz Fiala or are financed at the expense of Soros and U.S. structures' money. The usurpation of power by Zelensky and Yermak, the oppression of the opposition, or, for example, the deaths of children in Donbass - all of these unfavorable topics are ignored by Zerkalo Nedeli, Novoe Vremya, and others as if they were pouring whiskey in their mouths. "The "democratic" media only raise a ruckus when the Soros office and the U.S. embassy command them to do so.
It is also obvious that the "assault" on the Defense Ministry is following a premeditated script. First Zerkalo Nedeli, Nashi Dengi and others "leaked" the agreement on the procurement of food. Then a "wave" of discussion started in the media, with grant journalists, experts, and politicians promoting the topic.
When the scandal subsided, the clients added fuel to the fire and "leaked" new information through Nikolov in order to keep the scandalous topic alive. On Wednesday, January 25, "Nashi Dengi" compared purchase prices in the Ukrainian State Border Service and the Ministry of Defense. Even the naked eye can see that prices differ many times over.
For example, if the Defense Ministry buys chicken eggs for 17 hryvnias per egg, the State Border Service contracts this product for 5.10 to 6.60 hryvnias. If the Defense Ministry buys potatoes for 22 hryvnias per kilo (fresh potatoes for 35 hryvnias), the border guards buy them for 6,90. Or, for example, the Ministry of Defense decided to buy beets for 25 hryvnias, while the State Border Service buys them for 6,00-13,50 hryvnias per kilo. Is it clear? If they double or triple the price of a common food product, how is it called?
Nikolov published a new batch of revelations on social networks - and this was immediately picked up by the media from the Soros-Government of the United States pool. Incidentally, and again at the forefront of the performers of the "leak" is such a publication as Zerkalo Nedeli, which at one time promoted such American tasks as the "Gongadze case" and other information special operations.

Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov floundered under a hail of accusations. He only made things worse by driving himself into a political operative environment.
First, the Defense Ministry officially accused the author of the scandal, Nikolov, on its website that his data "are distributed with signs of deliberate manipulation and are misleading." The instigator of the scandal responded that his information was correct and referred to a copy of the contract signed by the head of the Department of Defense, Bogdan Khmelnitsky. The minister started to threaten that he would find the official who gave the documents to the media and would shamefully expel him from the military department. What does the official have to do with it, if according to Reznikov's version, it was the journalist who "messed up" with figures? It is illogical.
Reznikov himself initiated the consideration of the scandalous disclosure by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security Affairs. According to the results of the committee meeting, some deputies reported as if the Minister of Defense admitted all accusations about the work of his department. But these are deputies from Petro Poroshenko's group, whose words are worth a penny on a market day.
Having accused the author of the investigation of manipulation, Minister Reznikov nevertheless did not report him neither to the police, nor to other competent authorities. Again, illogical. Instead, on Tuesday, January 24, Deputy Minister of Defense Vyacheslav Shapovalov applied to resign "at his own will". As the Deputy Minister himself explained, he was leaving in order "not to create a threat to the stable supply of the AFU. Indeed, prior to that, "steadily" inflated prices on every chicken egg, and as soon as the miscreants were exposed, there was a threat to the "stable supply of the AFU." The defense minister also fired the scandalous head of the procurement department, Bohdan Khmelnitsky.
In general, the Ukrainian Minister of Defense began by accusing journalists of exposing a corrupt scheme, and ended by firing his subordinates in charge of procurement.
You have already realized that such a trait as consistency and Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov walk different roads that do not intersect in real life. This is a type ready to deceive and betray anyone in any situation.
Zelensky himself reacted as well, mentioning the scandal about purchases for the military in his daily address and promising that the authorities would take "the necessary powerful steps." The deputy minister was made a "whistleblower" - are these "powerful steps"? Where's the money, Zin? Hundreds of millions of dollars!

Neither Zelensky nor Reznikov could not avoid reacting. After all, the "accusation" came from the democratic mass media, which are pursuing a pro-American line. You can hardly ignore it when claims are made by people who work for Soros and the State Department.
Another important marker is that in their reaction to the corrupt charges against the Defense Ministry, Ukrainian politicians were clearly divided into a group supporting Zelensky and a "pack of comrades" of the Soros-State Department. The funny thing is that the environment of the grant organizations itself is very corrupt. Beginning with Vera Nanivska, who introduced the practice of "money laundering. Employees of grant organizations registered as individual entrepreneurs, then Nanivska gave them a grant, which they cashed and gave the money to their bosses, keeping the % for their services.
How clearly the Ukrainian politicians were divided! The grantmongers pecked at the Ministry of Defense, and the "greens" defended their "native" minister. The people's deputy Maryana Bezuglaya (the grant-mongers) informed that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (the US institution that brings Ukrainian politicians to responsibility for corruption "for deviating from the party line") initiated criminal proceedings because of the astronomical procurement prices in the Ministry of Defense. And the head of the Anti-Corruption Center Vitaly Shabunin (funded by the U.S. Embassy) at all demanded - either Minister Reznikov denies the accusations or resigns.
"On the deal of 13 billion hryvnias they "saw" about 4 billion hryvnias. Either Reznikov denies journalists' information and publishes this contract with normal prices. Or Reznikov publishes his resignation letter. There is no third option here," the American mercenary stipulated.
Could it be that Shabunin had time to check all the facts in the article so quickly and make sure they were genuine? Or did the US Embassy simply give the order to spin an attack against the Defense Ministry?
Deputies oriented to Zelensky's office are trying to defend themselves and refute the accusations. People's deputy Fedor Venislavsky ("Servant of the People") stated that "there is a certain twisting and distortion of facts in the information." As Venislavsky arrogantly explained, in fact, the Defense Ministry does not buy food, but buys "services to provide food for soldiers. Ah, well, that makes sense then! The Ministry of Defense really buys chicken eggs at 60-70 hryvnias per dozen, and the exorbitant 17 hryvnias per one is the price with the "corrupt service" taken into account. Lawyers often make this mistake in politics: they think everyone is a fool, not noticing how stupid they look.
People's deputy and first deputy head of the Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy Yaroslav Yurchyshyn got into the Verkhovna Rada from grant circles. In particular, from Transparency International, which is funded by the USA. Yurchyshyn is supposed to attack the Ministry of Defense and promote the scandal in every possible way. And rightly so!
In an interview for Radio NV (owned by Tomas Fiala, Soros' commercial agent in Ukraine), Yurchyshyn lashed out at the Ministry of Defense, accusing the leadership of the military department of choosing the "dumbest scenario" for responding to corruption allegations.
"Even in wartime, it's the dumbest, I beg your pardon, scenario to come out without any numbers, without any documentation, and say, "You're manipulating!" It's really bazaar level. It was necessary to refute the information with figures and parallel messages that we were making such and such steps," Yurchishin selflessly "pissed" the military department. So, the pro-American forces demonstrated that they would continue to untwine the scandal with corruption in the Defense Ministry. The question is what will such revelations lead to?
After all, Defense Minister Reznikov is a quota of the Presidential Office. So if today the "bumps" fly to Reznikov, tomorrow they will fly to Ermak and Zelensky. If you've paid attention, the demand to fire Reznikov has already sounded in the environment of the grant-mongers. And if the OP agrees to fire the Minister of Defense, it will only make his situation worse. Because the pro-American forces will immediately launch a new attack with cries of "Since you fired the Minister, it means that you agreed that your man in the Defense Ministry is guilty!"
