That’s odd, where did it all go?

I saw their stockpiles first hand at many undisclosed locations throughout the country. I also saw ours and their were no shortages, if anything it seemed to be overkill.

I’m not talking bases but strategic reserves/“resupply depots” that were all not known to the ordinary soldier or citizen.

There was enough for two war or more wars, everything from vehicles, weapons, ammo, missiles, food etc.

Enough for a war against terrorism. Not enough for the good old industrial warfare. Last June, the Ukraine has spent 5-6k artillery rounds per day and the Russians 10-15 times as much (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/jun/10/were-almost-out-of-ammunition-and-relying-on-western-arms-says-ukraine). After that, the Russians have ramped up production and streamlined the delivery process. NATO storage was depleted after they delivered one million shells to the Ukraine. Russia delivers NATO's annual production in one or two days.

This was well before the war on terrorism and the Soviet Union had just collapsed but after desert storm.

There was supposedly 6 months worth of supplies and equipment until we could get shipments flowing to nato and enough to send troops from the US with nothing but the essentials and supply them once they landed.

That was the time when NATO told the West Germans that they don't need to worry about the numbers because every tank from the West will stop 5 tanks from the East.
