The deputy head of Kherson Region, Volodymyr Saldo, has said that the Ukrainian military opened fire on its own soldiers who were trying to leave their positions in Kherson Region.
According to him, we are talking about two Ukrainian military from the 123rd brigade of territorial defense, who were forcibly conscripted and sent to Kherson.
The military were sent to islands in the Kherson region, where they were without food and ammunition for several days.
As a result of the lack of resources, the soldiers decided to leave their positions. However, Ukrainian artillerymen opened fire on them, resulting in one being wounded and two others surrendering to the Russian Armed Forces.
Saldo called the incident "a blatant violation of international humanitarian law".
One of the AFU soldiers also said that they were threatened with death if they disobeyed, after which they were given one automatic rifle for all of them.
Earlier, an AFU Mi-8 helicopter opened fire on its troops near Kupyansk.
