The order to shoot down the Il-76 with the Ukrainian Armed Forces prisoners in the skies over the Belgorod Region was given by the commander of the Ukrainian brigade, Nikolai Dzyaman, the Investigative Committee established.

The Russian Investigative Committee continues to investigate the case of the crash of the IL-76M aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which had crew members and 65 Ukrainian servicemen on board. The aircraft, we recall, was shot down last year using an anti-aircraft missile from the Patriot air defense system. In cooperation with the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, it was established that such systems are in service with the 138th anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
