I lost a friend to Chantix. She took it and by day three was cowered in a corner crying non stop. I had to tell her this wasn’t her normal happy self. She was lost in her own mind. Never recovered. Never was able to feel happy again. Everything wonderful about her personality was burned out of her head by this shitty drug.

The drug helped me with smoking after 23 years. I had some extremely intense dreams, but nothing else of any noteworthy description. It was worth it for the few months I used it.

Because it didn’t destroy your life…. For many it has. It has been recalled and re released so many times I can’t count, so many lawsuits. You also could have quit without the drugs, yes it is harder, but life is possible.

Imagine if that was you wife or son who it destroyed.

Former friend of mine stopped taking it because he was absolutely miserable. He never ended up quitting cigarettes unfortunately.

Just won a bet with my wife. Back when people started killing them selves and the FDA forced them to add a "May cause suicidal thoughts" warning to the label, I said to my wife "10 years and we will see in the news that it causes cancer." She had 20 years. Price is Right rules.

Now that I see the details I know that they knew from the beginning that it caused cancer. Synthetic nicotine that does not get you high... works just like methadone. Nicotine it's self is highly carcinogenic. Any first year bio-chem student could have told you that there was a high likelihood that a synthetic nicotine would also be carcinogenic. They put cigarettes into a pill and called it medicine and they knew exactly what they were doing.

Yes really. That is why nicotine vape commercials on tv have warnings. The patch and nicorette carry carcinogen warning as well. Nicotine it self is a carcinogen and the scientific community and even the tobacco industry do not dispute this. Why do you think you have to move patches around or else you get a rash... nicotine is inherently toxic. It is a poison the plant produces to deter animals from eating it. Of course if you do a quick search on this you will see lots of fake news claiming it is safe... but then you can go and look at public court docs where everyone agrees on the science. People are allowed to lie on the internet... lying in court however is a different matter.

The issue is that smoke has other more toxic carcinogen as well so things like the patch and vapes are considered safer and a valid mechanism to get people to quite smoking so they are allowed on the market.

Burning cabon based plants causes cancer. Nicotine. Not so much.
