What I'd like to know is the exact number Catholics that were specifically targeted and killed by the USSR for being Catholic. The Bolsheviks can count, too. This would be excellent data to put into my talking points when it comes up in conversation with commie apologists.
Would not Orthodox Christian count as Catholic, as the Catholic church is the foundation of all other Christian religions?

Me: "10 million Christians were killed by communist USSR regime. That's more than the Third Reich killed Jews."
Commie: "Were the Christians targeted specifically because they were Christians?"
Me: "...I don't know."
Commie: "They are not the same. Jews were targeted specifically because they were Jews."
Here's how the argument goes if I have proper data and talking points:
Me: "10 million Christians were killed by communist USSR regime. That's more than the Third Reich killed Jews."
Commie: "Were the Christians targeted specifically because they were Christians?"
Me: "Yes. And the figure is likely higher but we don't truly know how many were killed because they were Christians or were killed simply because Communism is the biggest evil to have ever existed in human history. More Christians were targeted and killed than Jews. The Jews have the WWII Holocaust. The Christians have the 20th Century Communist-driven genocide. Would you like to talk about the Chinese communism targeting Christians, too?"
Commie: "Do you have a reputable source for that?"
Me: "Sure do. (sourced) So about my question."
Commie: "That wasn't real communism!"
Me: "So all the times communism was tried at the country level, none of it was "rEaL cOmmUnIsm", right? You support de facto genocide. How many people have to die before you realize that communism just concentrates power into the hands of a very small number of people making it no different than an Oligarchy which is the same exact Corporatocracy you decry?"
