They aren’t selling it? They have a domain broker service which for a bit of cash you put in an offer and they reach out to the Whois contact for you. According to their support staff from a few years ago, they try to negotiate the sale of the domain within your set budget. So at most, they’ll sell some chump a $60-70 service where they send an email or two to the domain contact to ask to buy your domain off you.

There’s also a back order service where you pay for the domain plus like $10 or something and they put an automated watch on the domain. If the domain expires and goes to auction ON THE GODADDY PLATFORM they will put a bid on it for you equal to the registration cost you paid.

Basically, both methods are domain acquisition for dummies since you can just look up the Whois and contact the owner or set a calendar reminder to check again. But GoDaddy customers are not always the smartest apparently.

trying to sell (something they don't even own) != selling (something they own)

That's what I meant.

Gotcha. I see what you mean. At any rate, GoDaddy is a woke piece of shit company that can choke to death on its own nigger loving ad campaign.

Couldn't agree more with you on that.
