I am obviously not for what we know doesn't work. Vaccines and masks. The science should be settled at this point. I'm also not for manditory anything, such as lockdowns, or long term self isolation. But... seeing as Omacron is supposedly very contagious and should burn through the population rather quickly, this relative fact I can tell you that the other side will never admit. The terminal degree of spread is basically fixed. It will spread until enough people have had is such that the R value for it drops below 1 (independent of behavior), then it will spread a little more because viruses do spread to a degree even with an R value below 1. Why it has to be the R value independent of behavior is because behavior will have to return to a baseline eventually at which point it spreads again and you eventually hit that same terminal infection total. The point being is that it's not how many get Omacron but who. And I'd rather it not be my based friends online. There are a lot of other people who deserve it more. And because it might spread fast enough that avoidence of it may actually be practical I say go for it, unlike regular corona that would demand you throw your life away for years at a time to attempt avoiding it.

But if we all personally take efforts to avoid it that should not be confused with communicating to society that they can actually fight omacron and beat it. That will only make the process longer and make compeditive avoidance of it longer duration, to the point that it might not be worth it.

I also think that Christmas comes first. It just does. But after christmas is over I'm going to be playing it safe for a bit. My work has one location with 14 people out and their entire management staff. This should be quick. Relatively painless. And even less painless if you aren't the one that gets it.

But our advantage can be doing what actually works instead of superstions. Stay hydrated, especially in the morning. Eat well. Get your vitamins. Get good sleep. Avoid anything that can harm your sleep, like late caffine. Get your zinc and zinc inophore especially. It's just a couple weeks of staying on top of that shit. And whatever you do, don't encourage lefties to avoid it, because that will just make this take longer.
