On Twitter, if the core goal behind any tweet is maximizing reach and engagement, then the majority of the content you will see was created by those who most effecitvely broadcast their message.

Twitter is entirely algorithm driven. Every tweet you see is chosen for you by the "AI". This algorithm optimizes for reach and engagement.

Consider now that there are countless "special interest groups" that want nothing more than to be able to access you. Direct stimulus. Information produced by them, fed directly into your brain, no matter where you may happen to be on the planet.

This is what twitter and other social media platforms give them.

Consider just two major interest groups: 1) Military 2) Commercial advertising. Both require access to mediums of mass influence. The resources of the military industrial complex alone dwarfs anything the latter could hope to proffer. They can replace all trending content with their own, artificial, sanitized versions of the same content. It does not matter what the content is. The vast majority of content (images, text) is already entirely AI generated.

Add in the remaining global interest groups and you've got a 100% artificial base of content.

Literally nothing you see on twitter is organic. Even when big name individuals post on twitter (see: trump, elong) it is all from PR groups which optimize constantly for reach and engagement.

Not to mention 90%+ of the tweets you see outside of twitter are screenshots that can seldom be verified.

Note: This applies to all forms of social media and any other medium wherein you interact with content produced by other users.

You can tell when this is happening because YOUR posts will get little to no engagement. It's a zero sum game. If their fake posts are getting engagement, then yours aren't. Try posting something to reddit. No one will see it.
