Seems like if you're on Poal you probably lean right. But (I assume) vegans generally go far left.

Is that premise right? If so, how does it go when you talk to them about your non-diet related politics?

Yeah, I'm pretty conservative. And yeah, most vegans are leftists.

When discussing politics, I try to start at a point we both agree on. For example, vegans value anything that is sentient. So when discussing abortion, I'll say that I draw the line at sentience. If the fetus isn't sentient, then you can abort. If it is, then killing it is murder.

Ok but what about economics? What about orange man bad? Or even just consuming media critically? Where is the common ground there?

Yeah, that's a bit harder. It's easier with vegans who fully comprehend the ethical argument. These vegans are smarter than vegans who are vegan just because they don't want to harm animals. And because these smarter vegans are smarter, they're more centrist or right-leaning or at the very least open to hearing opposing opinions.

We get along fine but the vegans & vegitarians I know are more center...or even righ-leaning and they eat that way because they dont trust commercial farming practices.

Hm, this was not what I expected.
