It's virtue signalling and possibly self-serving beyond just the "look at how much better I am than you are". If they convert the entire human population to veganism, they'll be able to eat everything at every gathering they go to. Of course, it'll all be soy . . .

If you ever want to see a large population of vegans in action, go to Boulder, CO. It's the crown jewel of the Vegan Empire and filled with Colorado's version of Florida Man.
