It's like in the last almost 3 years people have forgotten it is a HIPPA violation to disclose medical information to anyone who is not your physician yet these dumbassses will tell the waitress at red robin if they were vaccinated then have to show "proof"

I get to work with legal at work. I asked them this very question and it is not a HIPPAA violation to require proof of vaccination.

The Privacy Rule applies to "covered entities."

Those are:

"health plans, health care clearinghouses, and health care providers that conduct standard electronic transactions"

Your employer is not one of the covered entities. Neither is a business that you wish to visit. If your employer calls your doctor to ask if you're vaccinated, that's prohibited because you doctor is a Covered Entity under the privacy rule. But if you show your vaccine card to a business and your employer asks that business if you are vaccinated, that business can disclose that information and you have no recourse against that business or your employer.
