It is not about putting people on the streets, it is about fairly compensating them for their injury. If you are injured in any other occupation, is there a means test for compensation?
Interesting equation but not factoring in service to country. Dying on a job, you can sue for lifetime wage loss. If the military had that same expectation, the government could never wage another large scale war.
That is a false assumption. The DoD pays a death benefit if you die. Do you believe that all liability should come with a means test? Should insurance companies not have to pay disability settlements if the victim makes over $150K? We asked these veterans to put themselves in harms way, we are obliged to compensate them when they are injured.
