I agree about controlling GPS and aerospace. Doesn't require that we're on a spinning ball. Satellites are not orbiting earth, they are attached to helium balloons. It's literally 1,000x cheaper to do it that way anyways. Hence why NASA is the largest consumer of Helium in the entire world.
