O had a similar incident in 2011. Flying down a hill tried to stop hard, ski flew off, tried gain control with other side ski, that ski flew off. Disappeared. I was 220 with bindings later found for someone 130lbs. I was cartwheeling. Flying down mountain I saw some tees coming up. I thought this is it. This is how I die. There was a weird calm that was over me because I had no control. Bam. Broke couple bones in my leg tibia and fibia. I shouted out fuuuuuuuck!!
But the adrenaline alone was a pain killer and to where I was happy I survived. I was making jokes the sleigh ride down.
I tried skiing a year after that, but I went down once slowly and couldn’t do it anymore. All passion I had for skiing was gone. Replaced by that moment. Sold the skis/boots/poles for 20. Total was around 1600. I remember first lift ride after that. My hands were shaking. I was a diamond skilled skier at the time.

You and I had similar skiing style. I wasn't having fun unless I was pushing the edge. I was more fortunate than you and escaped such a life changing event. I quit and stuck to playing hockey. I happy I never did snowboarding as so many people I know destroyed their knees.

Both little brother and sister have knee problems. I was the skier in the family.

Why do I have a -1 for a reply here? 🤷‍♂️

If you click/tap “info” in that comment, you’ll see who didn’t like your comment but was too lazy to let you know why.

No surprise these “low activity” accounts used almost exclusively for downvoting legit comments and upvoting shitposts are wondering why they get algoed.
