I have an induction forge. It’ll heat a 1” round bar into a sparking white hot in less than 60 seconds. 1/2” round bar in about 30 seconds. A time and energy saver, but has limitations since it’s a coil you pass the metal through. Coil size and metal size relationship are important to get to forging heat. You can also melt gold or silver down using a coil wrapped around a crucible. They’re pretty cool.

heat induction

note his comment about the wooden plate having wire running through it and connecting it to a high-voltage alternating current

Haha, you reset your points again!

The hot pan would fry your junk if you tried cooking on your lap.

From a time when the television was actually used to educate by entertaining. Young proto-science geeks would then go try this stuff on their own. Now you have to go to youtube for the same kind of content.

Why the fuck would I want to fry eggs in my lap with high voltage wires near my genitals?

"Oops I spilled my coffe... ZZZZZZRRRRRRRRCHZZZ AAAAHHHRRR HHHIIIIISSSSSS."

He needs to work on his sales pitch.

Someone's making an induction stove meant to go UNDER your stone countertop. I think they suggest granite.

It would be awesome to have hidden induction stoves in your kitchen island just for keeping food warm during serving times.

My guess would be the pan is already hot.

It's just induction heating. The electricity through the coil creates a magnetic field that makes anything iron-based like cast iron or stainless steel get very hot quickly if very close to it.

More specifically, it's the quick alternation of the field that induces heating in the pan. It exerts magnetic "friction" because it can't change as quickly as the field is, so this generates heat.

That's neat as fuck.
