You do not seem to have a concept of conversation.

"Farming" anything basically guarantees the continuation of the species.

By your logic, cows would be extinct since we farmed them.

"Farming" anything basically guarantees the continuation of the species.

Ever heard of the Gros Michel (Big Mike) varietal of banana? The Gros Michel was the most popular cultivar of edible banana up until the species was nearly decimated by Panama Disease in the 50s/60s. People farmed the Gros Michel in many parts of the world but it was the farming practice of monoculture that caused the species to become unable to be farmed on any significant scale outside of a small garden. It was nearly completely wiped out as a species.

The popular bananas that we know today, the Cavendish varietal, were rushed into cultivation to replace the Gros Michel when it became unviable to farm them. They taste different, but unlike the many hundreds of other banana varietals, they are at least edible, soft and have small seeds. The Cavendish is also a monoculture so one day Panama Disease will wipe out this species as well, thanks to farming.

The next time you eat something with artificial banana flavor and remark how it does not taste like bananas, just remember that the artificial banana flavor is made from the banana ester compound isolated from the Gros Michel varietal and not the Cavendish varietal you know. The flavor is spot on when you compare it to the correct varietal of banana, but anyone born after the Gros Michel farming disaster will never know that from experience. Thanks modern farming!

Very aware of this. Not sure how it applies to this particular context?

It applies to this particular context because farming does not guarantee the survival of a species. While farming may allow many species to continue forward, the Gros Michel disaster shows how farming can also virtually eliminate a species.

False statement.

Ok. Produce something that was farmed and is now extinct because it was farmed.
