In addition to hearing how the pronunciation of Marlboro was niggerized, we also get to see how clueless they were about influence and mind control back then. It's so cringy how they're blatantly telling you what to think and what associations you should have. Working and smoking. That box is impressive.
These days they know to let the people make their own associations. If they want to associate work with smoking, then they'd just show various footage of men working while smoking. If the box (yeah, I know it's commonplace now) is somehow special and impressive, they would just show the box with perhaps a visual emphasis on it's impressiveness. This sort of mind control they got much better at has also been applied to movies, TV shows, and news. The majority of people are NPCs that are helpless in figuring out this stuff is going on and figuring out the people behind all of it are scum.
