Another thing to remember, if you post any picture online, never do it directly from your phone, always edit the image in a separate application and save the result as a different file (or at least use some sort of metadata cleaning tool).

I have seen files posted here, and other places, where I can simply download the file and look at the GPS co-ordinates recorded in the metadata. Don't doxx yourself by posting something from your phone, even some digital cameras have GPS built in and can record the location of the photo too.

FYI When you upload an image on Poal (Pic8), EXIF metadata are automatically stripped off.

And for anything uploaded elsewhere,

exiftool -all= file.jpg

If you want to preserve just orientation

exiftool -all= -tagsFromFile @ -orientation file.jpg

Check what meta-data is in image

exiftool file.jpg

Really important when selling valuable things. I once had a guy send me some pictures of coins to sell and they had his GPS coordinates. Oops.

First thing I do when I get a new phone is turn that shit off.

I have disabled every app from accessing my location services except for the maps app when it is running, but my phone will still turn on location from time to time for no apparent reason. I don't trust it at all.
