Impressive, but can it light multiple forest fires at once that can all be blamed on climate change?
Very dangerous.
Having worked with high power lasers, even the reflected light off of a non reflective surface can cause eye damage to those not wearing protection. At these power levels they are Fucking up random people’s eyes as they are just walking by.
Wood doesn't directly reflect laser light and burns right away (charred surface absorbs even more)
Power is adjustable and I don't think they need 100% of it to cut the trees/branches shown in the vid.
I dont even know if welding glasses would be enough protection
Not sure I believe this is real.
This is fake. If you cut the top of a tree from the ground the cut would be at a very obtuse angle, not 90°.
Secondly, the optics to focus from that distance would be huge.
Third, the power they are pretending to put out would melt the laser. That is just far too small to dissipate the heat.
Some dude did the same thing with a laser cutter and a telescope. Not sure if it was posted here or somewhere else. He was cutting palm trees and was actually cutting branches off. He was lighting the trees on fire too. This tech is probably best for live tree trimming. Don't be a plane in the background though.
Don't be a plane in the background though.
Depends the distance, These devices have adjustable lens to focus the beam, so I don't think it would do any damage over a mile away.
I suppose if you had a 2" lens focused 100' away. At 35,000 ft the beam would be 700" in diameter or about 58'. A circle with diameter of 58' is about 2671 sqft. 1000w laser applied with no losses is about .375 w/sqft or 0.00256 w/sqin. Your logic checks.
>80 degree tilted laser
>perfectly horizontal cuts at 120 feet up
Seems about as legit as any other Chinese tech innovation video I've ever seen.
Marvel movies are real, especially Wakandan ones.
