Granted, the testing in this video was done on commercial as opposed to consumer toilets. I don't ever touch the toilet more than necessary in public.

I do however close the lid on my own before flushing. Especially in the bathroom where by toothbrush is kept. Thoughts?

I could get behind the obsessive-compulsive argument if closing the toilet lid required some complex series of tasks, but it doesn't. It takes less than half a second to not fling particles of feces around the room unnecessarily.
