The bible was written by man.
Correct. I had a feeling you would be smart enough to understand that.
I don't follow the bible. I follow Jesus and my communion with him.
How do you believe in jesus then? That makes zero sense. If not for the bible you would know nothing of jesus. So you do follow the bible...

Because I know he is real. I feel his presence, along with God the Father, in all of Creation. I am part of Creation so I am innately connected to it and God and Jesus. It's why I exist. That's all I need to know and feel.
Having faith in God yes I can believe that and do myself. Having faith in a fictional depiction of quite possibly a non fictional character (jesus) is not possible. That is having faith in the words of man. Jesus only exists in the new testament. That's besides the point though. You're free to believe what you want. I guess if you don't believe in the bible, as you say, then it's not so much of a contradiction as I thought. Although I will stand firmly that you wouldn't even know the name "jesus" if you didn't believe in the bible.

Jesus and God are one in the same. I believe in God so therefore I believe in all of God's integral forms. I use the terms of the bible so we can have a common language, but yes I do not refer to them as distinct entities normally. I just refer to God and that is all I truly need.
