He missed one of the most important things: proper dust filtering. If your vacuum cleaner doesn’t do this a lot of the dust it picks up will be sprayed out into the air making it hazardous to breathe for a while.

The last time I was shopping for a vacuum cleaner I found a decent video on .

That channel has a where they check lots of things, including the air quality.

An interesting thing about filtering is that brushed DC motors shed particles of the carbon contacts as they wear down. If the filter isn't after the motor, it won't catch these. I don't know how many use brushless DC motors these days.
