He missed one of the most important things: proper dust filtering. If your vacuum cleaner doesn’t do this a lot of the dust it picks up will be sprayed out into the air making it hazardous to breathe for a while.

An interesting thing about filtering is that brushed DC motors shed particles of the carbon contacts as they wear down. If the filter isn't after the motor, it won't catch these. I don't know how many use brushless DC motors these days.
