No it isn't fake. Brain death is real death, it is legally defined as the cessation if the entire brain and the brain stem. That is, the thinking brain and the part of the brain that regulates bodily functions such as coughing, breathing, blinking, etc. When a person is legally and **truly** brain dead they will not breathe when taken off life support and the heart will stop because oxygen is depleted and carbon dioxide builds in the blood. Don't believe all the scary stuff about organ donation; some of it is real but most of it isn't. I too am not a donor but for different reasons.
