Just got up went out to make sure the cats have food and water. Stupid xfce weather app says it's 72f out now. I then looked at the actual thermometer on the outside table 79f 98% humidity, vt is now feeling like Florida.

Poor fucking cats out in this shit, it's like a steam bath now so I put ice in their water dish though the skunk might end up drinking it since it just had babies a few weeks ago it eats more so more cat dish filling lately.

A skunk is likely one of the best burglar deterents around at night, surprise mr. Sure wakes them up I'm possitive.

Our Newick's Lobster House (South Portland) closed in 2007. Very sad.

Damn. A good place to eat. A lot changed after the Old Man of the Mountain came down.

Yes, a very sad day in both cases.

All of my old favorite seafood restaurants of the past 50 years are gone now.

The Village Cafe, Portland The Village Inn, Saco. The Village Inn, Auburn (still open, quality is not at all what it once was) Cap'n Newick's.

I used to order a baked potato and sour cream to replace the French fries. Most would put the clams on top of the fries giving the illusion of many more fried clams, so I would substitute a baked potato and sour cream for the fries. Because there were no fries, the plate looked much emptier than those plates with fries and clams ... apparently they couldn't allow that and would round up the pile of clams to nearly the same size as the plates with fries and clams! Heck of a deal! ... I don't really care for fries so it's a win-win!

One of the best I've had lately was Cameron's Lobster House in Brunswick. Also I've heard Peppers Landing in Brunswick is pretty good.

I tend to steam and eat lobsters and clams at home these days if I have seafood. It was a tradition in my family. My big reason to hit the seafood restaurants is in search of delicious but elusive fried whole clams. I remember back when I was about 20 the price of fresh steamers at the docks were about $14 a peck (about 12 pounds), now they are $9.99 a pound.
