Been 5 years for me. Could be one of these reasons: a) Quit drinking booze 5 years ago b) Left the "huge circle of friends, party hardy every weekend" lifestyle (much, much, less close human contact)
Most likely option b, less chance to catch anything from people if you're not around them so much anymore.

I stopped drinking around the same time (ten years ago) and gave up cigs and pot not long after. I also spend a lot less time in cities and around people or friends.
Living out on the coast in a semi country setting has to be healthier for sure.
