Since this is in /what, I'll explain this. They used a lot of hairspray in the 1980s, and early 90s. That hairspray, at that time, contained CFCs, which damaged the ozone layer.

Nope they banned cfcs in the 70s if I recall correctly. I remember hearing this BS around 86 and looking at a girls can of aqua net it said on it contains no cfcs. Still remember to this day. It was an eye opener to my 6th grader brain.
