This is a primitive, impoverished people who have no means of showing wealth and status greater than "I am able to regularly eat." The kind of undisciplined idiots who can't avoid intentionally demolishing their own bodies in a first world society wouldn't survive a harsh primitive life. But I'd still be fine with sending them to Ethiopia.
