God said "on the day you shall eat of this fruit, you shall die"
ON THE DAY
The serpent said "you shall not die, but becone as God, knowing good from evil"
The serpent told the truth, she did not die, but her eyes were opened, knowing good from evil.
The second fruit, that God had kept from her and Adam was the FRUIT OF ETERNAL LIFE, meaning that no, they were NOT immortal in Eden, as God had exiled them in FEAR that they would eat of it, and live forever.
Third is that death was NOT the consequence of their original sin, the curses were as follows: Adam would toil to feed himself and his family for all his days. Eve would experience pain in childbirth. The serpent would lose its limbs, forcing it to crawl on it'd belly to get around, and would eat dust. Finally, they would all be subject to illness and hardship, in the form of war, famine, pestilence, and UNNATURAL deaths.
Implying that before, they experienced NATURAL death in Eden, but that was ALL that they experienced in terms of death.
ON THE DAY
God does not reckon time as we do.
A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day.
