Doesn't matter. OP is right. It's irresponsible. Everybody knows that you should always start them out on crew-served weapons so they can learn teamwork, how to take orders under stress, and function as part of a unit. Starting him out on an RPG at this stage is not maximizing his tactical and technical proficiency, or his professional development, and is really just asking for trouble in the long-term. This represents a leadership failure.
