Yes it is absolutely ridiculous. But for some context I am familiar with this gas pump. The only way too or from, North or South, is a single two lane road. A treacherous yet beautiful road that snakes it's way between the ocean and steep mountains with sheer cliff drops. From that pump there isn't another one In either direction for about 40 miles of winding roads. A trucker hauling tens(hundreds?) of thousands of gasoline is going to charge up the wazoo for delivery. It's the same road that lezbo couple purposely launched their whole "family" off a cliff on.

Edit: just look up Big Sur/Highway 101. It really is a fantastic place.

Good info. I can understand if the pump is so high. That place definitely costs a lot of money to get gasoline to.
