I was reading that solar panel tech has progressed enough that it is finally viable.

It needed cost to go down and efficiency to go up per kWh.

We are there:

The issue, of course, is there is not an infinite amount of land to build solar farms.

We need other power sources.

Fusion is still a viable option. But it is always decades out, it seems.

Thorium reactors are an option: India is working on it.

We also need to solve energy storage. We need to store the energy during off peak so we can quickly draw on it during peak hours. This is not an entirely solved problem but it is getting there.

We have zeropoint energy - the theories and whatnot that Tesla was able to prove and demonstrate. Never forget when he showed his inventions, the question they asked was "where do you put the meter?"

It has always been about control and keeping people under their thumb.
