I see these pictures and am saddened for where we've allowed our lives to be taken. Things are so soft and easy today, infinite amounts creature comforts are an arm's length away, but at what cost?

oh for sure - 100%. People stank, disease was awful, there was no social safety net, life was massively impacted by weather. But life was largely at your hands, and you had the freedom to shape it how you wanted.
