So my 18v DeWALT reciprocating saw finally died after years and years of use.DeWALT discontinued their 18v line so to buy a new one was pretty ridiculously priced.
I found one on Craigslist for $50 and around a 2.5 hour round drip drive. I talked to the guy and he was just straight up so I said I’d go get it the next day. He said he had work but he would leave it on his porch and I could put the money in a little ice chest he was leaving outside next to it. The guy even said just to bring $35 since I’m driving so far and he’s been trying to sell it for over a month. Awesome! I usually don’t jew anyone down on fair prices so that was a great surprise.
I told him I’d stay in touch and let him know when I got it. I took a little video as proof I left the money there but that didn’t seem necessary. He said on the phone “I sounded right” which seemed like code and I got his drift.
Just a couple of white guys with sense and trust in each other doing a little honest transaction. It’s always refreshing.
