This destination was my first and one of the best Volksmarches I've been on. It was somewhere between 3-400 people enjoying a slow paced walk through the hills and ending in the village below so everyone could eat and enjoy the beer halls. It was great at that time to be able to chat up the locals and have them laugh at my rudimentary understanding of the Deutsche language. Sadly, I've heard things have changed so much in the past decade that people don't go on these hikes anymore.
