History wouldn't have been the same if he was accepted to art school. He knew it. That's why he believed in Providence so much. He was a genius, brave, mastermind.
With paintings like that it's hard to believe he wasn't accepted in art school.
I recall reading somewhere the Art School critiques of his admission portfolio - who ever it were - they hard assed the crap out his work. Clearly back then - you had to really excel to get into a limited position (unless you came from money or knew the right people).
