It's an annual gathering in memorial of the 1978 murders of three youth wing members of the FDI political party (Brothers of Italy) - formed by one of Mussolini's deputies after the cessation of ww2 . The numbers increased this year because of Meloni's successful campaign election (she comes from the same political party). They are calling 'Present' in memory of each youth with the roman salute.
