Notepad++ 8.3.3 (Make Apps, not war)

How about "make apps, not political commentary"?

I take it the developer of that crapware is either a frog or can't spell...either one would explain the constant harping.

If the developer loves yookranes that much, it should go there.

Wow, that is gay as fuck. I stopped using it a long while ago but what the actual fuck?

That written as by me, talk about letting the world know your queer/gay. Same comment best comment.

I loved column mode, but can live without it. Have been using Kate for a few years. I dropped it when he did the first political statement post in a release.

https://www.ultraedit.com/

Ignore the AI marketing BS, the underlying editor is great.

Blue team ruins everything they touch, even the once innocuous notepad. I wonder if USAID paid for these "upgrades"over the past 20 years. Probably a dumb question.

Oh...that's disappointing, they've gone full retard.

I didn't DL it yet on a new install, and now I absolutely won't ever again.

Check the Czech PSPad, happy user since forever. https://www.pspad.com/en/ UltraEdit is worth a look. Although for me, it's been a while.

Notepad++ has been off the rails for a while now. They've been letting CIA do DLL hijacking for years. Users noticed the issue back in the 7.x.x versions. They claimed to fix it in a later 7.x.x version, but as recently as 8.5.4 users noticed the DLL hack wasn't fixed. They never had plans to fix it and they never will fix it. Fact is they can't fix it without completely rewriting the code base.

Sublime Text (sublimetext.com) is a really good editor. It's paid but you can download for free and the evaluation period has no time limit.

Sublime Text may be downloaded and evaluated for free, however a license must be purchased for continued use. There is currently no enforced time limit for the evaluation.

I just downloaded PSPad. It looks promising. It seems to be very similar in function to notepad++, so I'll see how it goes.

you can be political but you need to understand that users may not agree
