We had a massive entertainment cabinet. Somebody was getting rid of it, so we took it. Bit of an adventure that was. Must have been built in the room it lived in. It was nice, custom built all wood, but our house is small and it was just obtrusive. Cut off the top, roughly 5'x5'x30". Wife gave a rough layout for what she wanted. I refined it to the possible Bob's your uncle. It's an inch and a half taller cause I forgot that the sides sit in the top and bottom. I did remember that the middle day inside the sides, which was what really mattered.

I assume it won't have much wobble as long as its current configuration isn't too different than its original configuration. If it is wobbly, will you put a full back on to secure it or only a partial back near the corners?

Almost the whole project is ripped out of the side panels of the cabinet which were pine board glue ups each measuring 5'x30"x3/4". The two side panels came from one of the doors, which had that half round stripe detail. It wasn't until after I ripped and stacked my stock that I noticed how cupped the boards were. Everything has a mild s-curve to it. Maybe 1/8". Clamping, glue and screws smoothed out some of it...

Anyway, doesn't wobble. Kid tested. Sits nicely on the floor
