We had a massive entertainment cabinet. Somebody was getting rid of it, so we took it. Bit of an adventure that was. Must have been built in the room it lived in. It was nice, custom built all wood, but our house is small and it was just obtrusive. Cut off the top, roughly 5'x5'x30". Wife gave a rough layout for what she wanted. I refined it to the possible Bob's your uncle. It's an inch and a half taller cause I forgot that the sides sit in the top and bottom. I did remember that the middle day inside the sides, which was what really mattered.

Nice job. Always good to reuse timber from old pieces and give it new life.

Indeed. I've got the hardware for a fine set of pocket doors to find a project for now. That being said I've had the remains of a china cabinet laying around for a few years now... Maybe something will come along.
