It's so weird for me growing up, everyone a generation older than me has a story of where they were and what happened as the regime collapsed around them in real time.

For an old American (like me) it was 'where were you when you heard Kennedy was shot'. Now it's 'where were you when the twin towers fell'.

Yeah.... I wasn't 18 when the towers got hit, but I still remember that day with my aunt rushing in and putting in the TV. Weird how we just accepted everything afterwards, like it was all normal. In retrospect, I shudder at how proficient the propaganda machine was, and is still.
