The clear assumption seems to be that all of the members of the German armed forces are merely unthinking robots who will obey all orders, no matter how ridiculous, and only return to their barracks at night for recharging. That they don't have any wives, or children, or parents, or grandparents, or friends and neighbors of their own, that they will have to watch as they freeze and starve this winter.

There is a fundamental principle of command that the people running the EU would appear to be completely unfamiliar with: "Never give an order that you know, or have reason to believe, for whatever reason, cannot, or will not, be obeyed."
It's one thing to sic your army on goat-herders in Afghanistan. It's another thing entirely to threaten to sic them on your own people. That has never ended well.

If I was Vlad, I'd have already started smuggling some of those old stockpiled AK's to countries in the EU. Give them something bigger and closer to home to worry about instead of me.
