Keeping up on this has been hard. Right now I'm hearing people say that the military is both helping and fighting protesters. However, the people who say the army is fighting the protesters are from America. Everyone from Brazil says they're helping. Obviously I'll take the Brazilians word over the Americans, but other than words I can't find confirmation one way or the other.
