Japan’s strict—near zero—immigration policy is ironically what will keep loads of foreigners from infiltrating their government and implementing things like open immigration policies. Westerners can only bark at Japan from the outside about they want them to do. The Japanese will always take pleas from outside Japan with a grain of salt.

Japan’s attitude on immigration would have to change from the inside. Hopefully they don’t lose their minds and do that. I believe they see their country as overpopulated, so mass immigration probably sounds ludicrous to them.
