French riot police were set on fire today after being targeted by protesters armed with Molotov cocktails and other missiles amid May Day workers' rights parades across the country.

At least 108 police officers were injured in violent clashes with demonstrators who have taken to the streets to continue their protests against President Macron's widely unpopular pension reforms.

Footage showed petrol bombs hit police in Paris, while bike stands were also set on fire. One officer suffered burns to their face and body and was taken to hospital, state broadcaster France Televisions reported. . . .

1) As long as macron himself doesn't get torched he doesn't care, that's a fact "come get me" he said to the yellow vests 2) French essentially riot for a broken nail while they have AIDS+cancer+ebola, but the broken nail is just too much

Well at least they're doing something, still better than apathy and at the same time they do it at the wrong place/wrong targets for "some" reason...

Hence why I don't have much faith in those people

Besides, most of those rioting voted for macron against lepen, and the reform they're are protesting against now, was in his program... So there's that...

I agree, unless it was a stolen election. I'm not sure if they are paper ballots counted same day or what.

Election tampering can't be ruled out, at the same time electronic voting machines aren't the norm, far from it, while there are some last time I checked. It's mostly the way the fifth republic has been reorganized over the years that makes it difficult for third parties to break through, but most importantly, the "beaver vote" (vote "barrage" against fascism™) is still very strong. Lots of beavers in france.
